About Vermont Birth Network
Vermont Birth Network was founded on the belief that support, connection, and shared wisdom are essential parts of the perinatal journey—for both the families navigating it and the professionals who support them. Our mission is twofold: to make it easier for people across Vermont to find trusted, compassionate care during every stage of the perinatal experience, and to nurture a strong, inclusive, and connected community of birth professionals.
This vision was co-created by Greer Sargeant and Emily Piazza—two doulas and perinatal professionals who saw the need for a centralized, accessible resource for care and community. From the beginning, Greer brought warmth, insight, and a deep sense of purpose to the work. After two years running things together, Greer stepped away to pursue her graduate studies and her path as a therapist. We are so grateful for her foundational role in building this network and all the heart she poured into it.
The network continues under Emily’s leadership, grounded in the same values and commitment that inspired its founding. While roles evolve, the heart of the Vermont Birth Network remains constant: you—whether you’re a person seeking care or a professional offering it.
Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected birth community in Vermont.
