Good Beginnings
Parent & Early Childhood Support
Good Beginnings has an office located in Montpelier at 174 River Street.
Good Beginnings of Central Vermont provides free support, education, and connection for families during pregnancy and through a baby’s first 18 months.
Our Postpartum Angel Program matches families with trained volunteers who provide weekly home visits offering companionship, practical help, emotional support, and connections to community resources during the early months with a new baby.
Additional services include Journey Into Parenthood classes, Baby & Caregiver Meetups, babywearing consultations, support groups, and workshops. Families can also visit The Nest, our drop-in spaces in Montpelier and at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library, to rest, meet a friend, feed their baby or connect with staff.
Founded in 1991, Good Beginnings believes no parent should have to navigate the transition to parenthood alone. We serve families throughout Washington County and nearby communities in Orange and Lamoille counties. All services are free regardless of income or circumstance.
